The kudzu-draped trestle on the back cover of R.E.M.'s debut became a landmark. On October 2, 2000, Athens-Clarke County voted to save it. The timber span came down starting in 2020, and the Firefly Trail bridge opened in 2023 with a replica of the wooden trestle.
